Reliable quality, consistent service

This was my third purchase from Borealis, grabbed the new Adraga. Just like my previous Bull Shark and the Portus Cale I got last year, the quality is really consistent. The titanium case on this one is great, light and comfortable. Shipping was about the same as my last order, roughly a week and a half, which I've come to expect. Always happy with their divers; they're well-made for the price point, and I like that they stick to what they do well.

Good watch, slow shipping

I ordered a Sea Storm a few weeks back. The watch itself is solid, feels well-built, and the Miyota movement keeps good time. I was a bit disappointed with the shipping speed; it took almost 12 days to arrive after I got the tracking. Customer service was responsive when I inquired, which was a plus. Overall, decent value for a diver, but plan for a wait.

Haven't returned a watch, but had an issue with a bezel insert, support sent a new one no fuss.

Is Borealis Watch Company a good microbrand?

P PriyaS 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, definitely legitimate. Got a Sea Storm last year, solid build for the price.

Agreed. My Cascais is still a daily wear.

Heard good things about their diver models.

They're okay. My Estoril 300 had a slightly misaligned bezel though.

What movements do Borealis watches use?

K KunalF 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Mostly Miyota and Seiko NH35. Some have Swiss movements in higher-end models like the Vulcan.

The Miyota 9015 in my Sea Farer is very reliable.

My Scorpionfish has the NH35, runs great.

They list it clearly on each product page, usually Japanese or Swiss.

Borealis vs Seiko for diver watches?

R RituV 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Borealis often gives you better specs for the money, like sapphire crystal standard on most. My Sea Dragon is a tank.

S SanjayR 1 month ago
Movements are comparable, Miyota vs NH35.

G GauravM 1 month ago
Yeah, Seiko's hardlex can be a downside.

P PrakashD 1 month ago
Seiko has the history and brand recognition. Borealis is a good value option though.

True, but micros are catching up.
